Usability Testing Reflection

Feedback Reflection & Changes
I had a great experience with usability testing for my Canvas course. I selected two early childhood educators from my campus. One Pre-K and one Kindergarten teacher. They were ideal because they closely reflect the intended users of my course, which is designed for early childhood. They agreed to a formal observation, during which I provided them with a task list that included navigating the "Start Here" section and completing an activity from Week 1. They thoughtfully walked through the course, gave positive feedback, and pointed out a few areas that needed improvement. Based on her insights, I made the following changes:
Navigation was straightforward, but I could have improved with visual icons and fewer steps.
-Added visual icons to folder titles to support quick recognition and make the interface more accessible for both teachers and students.
-Reduced the number of clicks required to access key materials by embedding direct links within instructions, saving time and reducing confusion.
Audio instructions were helpful and should be used consistently.
-Recorded a clear, concise audio using a friendly and encouraging tone to guide learners in step-by-step direction.
-Reviewed existing modules to identify any missing or inconsistent use of audio and update accordingly for continuity.
Embedding link directly in instruction.
-Updated directions to clearly state what the link is for (e.g., “Click here to listen to the rhyme”).
-Reviewed each module to ensure links were functional and visible within the context of the activity.
